Following are the details regarding the exam pattern for SSC CHSL 2018 exams-

For Tier-1 Examination:
  • SSC CHSL exam will be held through online mode
  • Paper will consist of Multiple choice questions
  • The total number of questions asked in the exam will be 100 which will cover 200 marks divided into four sections i.e. General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness / General Knowledge
  • The total time allotted for Tier-1 exam is 75 minutes
  • Students should keep in mind that negative markings are also part of the exam. 0.5 marks will be reduced for every wrong answer.

For Tier-2 Examination:
  • This examination will be held offline through pen and paper medium. The exam will consist of subjective type questions
  • The exam is held to check candidates writing and comprehensive capabilities/skills.
  • The question paper will comprise of only 2 questions each of 50 marks. The total time allotted will be 60 minutes
  • Candidates can choose out of two languages to attempt in paper i.e. Hindi or English. Paper will comprise of one application and one essay question which is to be written in the preferred language. Student can opt for only one language.
  • All the candidates are required to score a minimum of 33 marks in order to qualify SSC CHSL Tier-2 exam.

For Tier-3 Skill Test / Typing Test:

  • This Tier comprise of Skill test or Typing test
  • If a candidate prefers typing in English language then one must have a typing speed of 35 words per minute, if a candidate prefers typing in Hindi then one must have a minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute
  • This typing test is applicable for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, Court Clerk posts and LDC
  • All the students who reach Tier-3 level of exam then they must poses a Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on computer.
  • Students should keep in mind that this typing test is held only for Data Entry Operator post
