BTech and MBA Admission: How to select a private engineering college?

We guide you on how to apply to a leading college or university for admission to B Tech or MBA.

In your quest for a good college or university to enroll for a B Tech or MBA degree, you are often left confused about which one to opt for.

At times, you are not even sure about which course to pursue and how to go about it. Read on to dispel some of the confusion:

Visualise your future.

The path to goal actualisation actually begins with a dream.

Where do you see yourself in the future?

Do you see yourself working in an office, overseeing meetings and drawing up strategies for companies to follow?

Do you dream of devising new technology in wireless communication? If your dream involves engineering or business, then you should seek admission to a private university for admission in B Tech and MBA.

Set down your expectations.

The college you choose depends on what you expect from it. If you are planning to be a day student, i.e. be on campus only for lessons and then head back home, then you will be more interested in the classroom facilities, faculty members, teaching aids being used, etc.

If you are planning to move to the college from another city, then you will keen to know about the on-site facilities, hostel rooms, additional cost of living on campus, etc.

Take note of the course’s entrance exam and eligibility criteria.

Leading universities have simplified the admissions process to a large extent, but there are stringent guidelines in place all the same.

Take a look at the eligibility criteria for private engineering college admission to B Tech and MBA, and the marks required in certain streams to be able to apply.

Next, check the entrance exam process, whether there are group discussions and personal interviews, what the course fees are, etc.

Look at the college infrastructure.

This is important if you are going to stay on campus. If possible, make a site visit before the admission process begins in earnest, to get a feel of the campus and its facilities.

You can also look at the picture gallery on the university’s website for a detailed look at lab rooms, classrooms, recreational spaces, hostel facilities, etc.

Also take a look outside the campus to know what kinds of facilities are available for transport, eating out, socialising, etc.

Get a list of documents required for admission.

Now all that remains is to apply for the private engineering college for admission to B Tech courses in 2019.

The college website will have a list of documents that you must attach with the application form.

After this, you will be called for the next round of exams and interviews.
